In his career as a Radio Jockey Rohit has learnt that expressing your opinion is essential and at the same time not being afraid. Also it is important to sound credible with humor.
While speaking of challenges Rohit feels that radio needs to be given that credibility when it comes to commenting on topics such as politics and news which can put radio stations in India on par with radio stations internationally. As a profession however, the challenge lies in always being creative and testing yourself everyday.
Being a bigger platform radio has plenty of plus points. It establishes a personal connection with lakhs of people. Rohit explains that more than your voice it's your personality that the listeners recognise and identify with. Another advantage is that he can walk down a street without being mobbed by the paparazzi.
Being an RJ is a tough job to always be lively Rohit gets his energy by stepping into the studio. That's how much he loves his job!
Speaking of which Taka Tak Mumbai is a show that aims at relating with the average Mumbaikar. This show is about being smart, more importantly street smart. It allows the listeners the opportunity to call in and say what is "taka tak" about them. It also serves as a rush hour reminder about errands on the way back home. The other segment allows one lucky caller to live out his dream career for a day.
This year being his fifth year in radio he hopes it will be life changing for radio as well as for him. Listeners get ready to see him on the streets of Mumbai standing for a cause that he believes in.
Growing up all of us had many aspirations; a little known fact about Rohit is that he actually wanted to sing. Unfortunately for him he couldn't get pass the sa re ga me pa's, luckily for us we get to experience his rich humor.
Rohit expresses that the youth of our generation is more intelligent. At an early age itself they are firm about their decisions and are not bound by what their parents want them to be.
