Yash Raj Films inks a deal with Sony to form Yash Raj TV

Yash Raj Films has forged an exclusive deal with Sony Entertainment TV, Asia which enable the movie production house to foray into the world of television.

On New Year's Day, 2010 Sony TV ushers in five new slots for Yash Raj films a week, having dropped two existing dramas with this intent. Four slots of non-fiction shall comprise "Mahi Way" the story of a young girl who defies the odds to fetch herself a successful career and life partner, while "Rishta" outlines the story of two youngsters who team up to find life partners for individuals.

"Seven" is the quest of seven ordinary men with extra gifts who quest to mitigate an ancient prophecy and deliver the world from evil, while "Powder" depicts the life of narcotics in Mumbai. Pitting two men against each other on either side of the law, it is a tale woven with myriad emotions. Amidst non-fiction, Karan Johar is to host "Left Kare Do," which brings a superstar to the sets with a fan.

Although slots have not yet been allocated, these shows are geared for prime time and are geared to leverage Sony TV to third position in the Top 3 Hindi charts from its present position below Colors, Zee TV and StarPlus.

Yash Raj boasts that with the commencement of a new decade, TV sets will turn"red!"
