Amazon Prime Video India announces alliance with Bengali Cinema’s Shree Venkatesh Films

Amazon and Eastern India’s biggest production houses, Shree Venkatesh Films today announced a long-term association that makes Amazon Prime Video India the subscription video streaming home for several blockbuster hits and upcoming releases of Shree Venkatesh Films.  Prime subscribers will have access to the releases, ‘Khawto’, directed by Kamaleswar Mukherjee starring Bengali Cinema superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee and Raima Sen in lead roles.  The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video before its television premiere.  Abir Chatterjee starrer detective thriller, ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ would also be released on the platform.

Available to Prime members will also be Durga Puja blockbuster hits - ‘Zulfiqar’, a film by Srijit Mukherji with a stellar cast including Prosenjit, Dev, Parambrata, Nusrat, Paoli, Jisshu amongst others and ‘Gangster’, directed by Birsa Dasgupta starring newcomer Yash Dasgupta with Mimi Chakraborty. Creating ripples amongst ‘Byomkesh’ followers, the Bengali thriller directed by Arindam Sil and produced by SVF, ‘Byomkesh Pawrbo’ travails the dark jungles of Dooars solving an enigma of a ghostrider amidst a series of murders in north Bengal. The film stars Abir Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty and Sohini Sarkar in lead roles. With this association, Prime members will have unlimited access to this globally acclaimed content.
