BARC ratings Wk 8: Star Plus back at No. 1

The see-saw at the top two spots amongst the Hindi GECs continues. Colors, after climbing to the top spot in Week 7, has slipped back to No. 2 in Week 8, yielding the top spot to Star Plus.

As per BARC ratings for Week 8 (February 20-26) of 2016, Star Plus was back at No. 1 with an increase in its gross viewership to 768,495 from 692,564 last week.

Colors was back at No. 2, garnering gross viewership of 725,868 in Week 8, a slight increase from 716,604 in Week 7.

Continuing in the third spot, Zee TV saw a further dip in its gross viewership in Week 8 to 645,473 from 666,691 last week.

Zee Anmol, too, remained in the fourth position. The channel also registered a further fall in its gross viewership from 656,412 in Week 7 to 625,553 this week.

Star Utsav, which was placed sixth last week with gross viewership of 437,543, rose to No. 5 in Week 8, witnessing a rise in its gross viewership to 492,907.

Sony Pal, too, rose up the ranks to be placed at No. 6 in Week 8 from No. 7 last week. The channel garnered gross viewership of 477,372 this week, compared to 433,875 in Week 7.

Life OK, which was placed fifth in Week 7, slipped to No. 7 this week, witnessing a fall in its gross viewership to 437,776 from 465,971 last week.

Rishtey continued in the eighth spot, garnering gross viewership of 372,527 in Week 8, a marginal increase from 371,925 last week.

Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television continued on the ninth and tenth spots, respectively, in Week 8. While Sab TV garnered gross viewership of 363,158 this week, Sony TV’s gross viewership stood at 311,654.

Top 5 shows on Hindi GECs

Colors’ ‘Naagin’ continues its undisputed reign as the top show on Hindi GECs, garnering ratings of 20,229 in Week 8.

Cricket on DD National scored this week with the live telecast of the first match between India and Bangladesh at the Micromax Asia Cup T20 2016 ranking No. 2, garnering ratings of 14,927 in Week 8.

Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was at No. 3 with ratings of 14,190 in Week 8, while ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ on Star Plus was ranked fourth, witnessing ratings of 13,871.

‘Jodha Akbar’ on Zee Anmol was at No. 5, garnering ratings of 12,095.
