BARC Wk 23: ‘Naagin 3’ debuts at No. 1, propels Colors back to Top 5

BARC ratings for Week 23 of 2018 (June 2-8) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Colors return to the Top 5 list of Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban on the back of two of its shows – ‘Naagin’ which has returned for its third season, and dance reality show, ‘Dance Deewane’. As expected, ‘Naagin 3’ has debuted as the No. 1 show. On the other hand, after registering an impressive performance for a few weeks, Rishtey saw the steepest fall this week – from No. 2 to No. 7. 

Zee Anmol remained steadfast at No. 1 in Week 23 as well, though it witnessed a fall in its gross viewership to 803,634 from 821,672 recorded last week. Re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, further slipped to the third spot among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 12,360 (000) Impressions. 

Sony Pal, meanwhile, climbed up a couple of notches to the second spot in Week 23, garnering a gross viewership of 651,390, an increase from 577,214 recorded last week. 

Zee TV remained unchanged in the third spot this week with a gross viewership of 599,049, a further increase from 592,858 recorded last week. Its marquee show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, made way for new entrant ‘Naagin 3’, slipping a notch in the process to No. 2 with 12,435 (000) Impressions. Spin-off show, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, also slipped a notch to the fourth spot with 11,260 (000) Impressions. 

Star Bharat climbed up a notch to the fourth spot in Week 23, garnering a gross viewership of 555,751, an increase from 536,573 recorded last week. 

Colors saw major gains in Week 23, jumping to the fifth spot from No. 8 last week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 547,437, a leap from 391,757 recorded in Week 22. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, makes an impressive return to the small screen and straightaway has become the most watched show in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 16,545 (000) Impressions. Also contributing to Colors’ overall performance is talent hunt show, ‘Dance Deewane’, which makes its debut in the list of most watched shows at No. 5 with 10,891 (000) Impressions. 

Star Utsav remained unchanged at No. 6 this week as well, garnering a gross viewership of 520,461, an increase from 490,206 recorded in Week 22. 

Meanwhile, Rishtey saw a steep drop in its rankings – from No. 2 last week to No. 7 in Week 23. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 506,821, a huge decline from 665,332 recorded last week. 

There was no change in the positions of Star Plus, Sony SAB and Sony Entertainment Television in Week 23. 

Placed in the seventh spot, Star Plus garnered a gross viewership of 458,688, compared to 447,354 recorded in Week 22. 

Sony SAB continued at No. 9 with a gross viewership of 385,499, a slight decline from 387,189 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television remained unchanged at No. 10 in Week 23, garnering gross viewership of 344,248, as against 340,834 recorded last week.
