BARC Wk 33: Zee Anmol consolidates top spot; FTA channels see gains

BARC ratings for Week 33 (August 11-17) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw FTA channels gain grounds once again among the top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. Zee TV was on the downswing this week. 

After reclaiming its numero uno position last week, Zee Anmol further consolidated its position in Week 33, garnering a gross viewership of 760,162, a further increase from 747,862 recorded in Week 32. However, re-run of the hit show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, didn’t fare so well as the show slipped to No. 5 among most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 11,009 (000) Impressions.  

Star Utsav, which had surprised many by reaching the numero uno spot in Week 31 but slid a couple of notches to the third spot a week later, gained some lost ground in Week 33. The channel climbed up a notch to the second spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 702,233, an increase from 665,087 recorded last week. 

Star Plus, which had climbed up three notches from No. 5 to No. 2 last week, slipped a notch to the third spot in Week 33. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 659,629, a decline from 682,867 recorded in Week 32. It’s prime time show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, gained in popularity, climbing up a notch to No. 4 with 11,479 (000) Impressions.  

On the other hand, Sony Pal saw gains, further climbing up a notch to No. 4 in Week 33, recording a gross viewership of 616,717, a marginal increase from 614,763 recorded last week. 

Another gainer this week is Star Bharat, climbed up a notch to the fifth spot, garnering a gross viewership of 613,947, a marginal hike from 613,191 recorded in Week 32. 

Zee TV continued to see decline in Week 33 as well, further slipping a couple of notches to No. 6 from No. 4 last week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 585,372, a decline from 621,587 recorded in Week 32. Marquee show, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, continued in the second spot with 12,529 (000) Impressions. Meanwhile, after being among the top 5 most watched shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban spin-off show, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, moved out of the list in Week 33. 

Colors remained in the seventh spot in Week 33, garnering a gross viewership of 578,653, a further decline from 596,396 recorded last week. Colors’ prime property, ‘Naagin 3’, continued as the most watched show in Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban with 14,905 (000) Impressions. Dance reality show, ‘Dance Deewane’, made a re-entry yet again in the third spot with 11,706 (000) Impressions. 

Placed at No. 8, Rishtey saw a decline in its gross viewership in Week 33 to 512,119 from 550,026 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television continued in the eighth spot this week, garnering a gross viewership of 455,355, compared to 491,619 recorded to Week 32. 

After being nudged out of the list of top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 32 by Dangal TV, Sony SAB was back at No. 10, garnering a gross viewership of 444,958. The channel had recorded a gross viewership of 456,529 in Week 31.
