Independence Day is not a mere holiday, it is a day to honour the country. These celebrities talk about their favourite Independence Day movies and freedom fighters.

Independence Day is not just a day to celebrate; it is something that this generation sometimes doesn't understand what our forefathers have done for us and that we are enjoying today. Independence Day is like a birthday to me. We have the freedom to live on Independence Day. Purab and Paschim is a movie I have seen a lot of times and have always been inspired by in many other ways. It also has a song, Preet Jahan Ki Reet Sata. This song was famous 40 years ago as well. Vir Savarkar is the most underrated freedom fighter. There are many myths circulated about him. Second is Subash Chandra Bose, and I strongly believe that India got freedom because of him.

I cannot imagine living where we don’t have freedom. Independence Day is the most important thing in an individual's life. If I think about my life before independence, it feels like a child who is caged. So, it’s like there’s no life if there’s no independence. I am grateful to all the freedom fighters who gave their lives for us and the army that fights for us every day on the borders. So, it definitely plays a vital role in all our lives. When I was a child, it was just a day to celebrate, but now that I have grown up, it plays a very significant role in all our lives. Bhagat Singh is someone whom I admire the most. I have not read much about it, but I feel that giving up your life for someone else’s freedom is hard. So, I think Bhagat Singh leaves something behind that stays with us.

The significance is that we are living in a free, democratic nation. We have the liberty to do everything that we want to do, and I mean that in a good way. Our ancestors shed a lot of blood so that we could live freely. I am very blessed to have been born in a free nation. We should be grateful to all our ancestors, the universe, and the Almighty for giving us birth to a free nation. There are so many, but I really love the legends of Bhagat Singh, Rang De Basanti, Shaheed, and Vir Savarkar. My favourites out of all of them are Bhagat Singh and Vir Savarkar.

To me, Independence Day holds immense significance, as I value the nation's history and the spirit of freedom. It's a day to honour the sacrifices of those who paved the way for our country's independence and to celebrate the shared identity that binds its citizens together. One patriotic film would be Rang de Basanti. I respect Mahatma Gandhi ji, and I am truly grateful for his sacrifice and his efforts for our country’s independence. But I am more of a Bhagat Singh follower. I feel his admiration was rooted in his courage, patriotism, and commitment to justice. Bhagat Singh’s fearlessness in challenging colonial oppression, his intellect, and his firm belief in equality have left a lasting impact on those who value these principles.

Independence Day is not just a single day of celebration. True freedom will be achieved when every individual receives equal rights. When everyone, regardless of their gender, is empowered and treated with respect. This includes women's empowerment. However, I still believe that some people today are insincere. They claim to be open-minded and progressive, but their actions don't align with their claims. So, the time will come when everyone will truly understand their rights and responsibilities. This will apply in all aspects: politically, mentally, and constitutionally. In this way, true knowledge of freedom will reach everyone.

As we raise our flags on this day, we honour the struggles of countless freedom fighters who fought valiantly for a sovereign India. Cinematic narratives like 'Lagaan' and 'Rang De Basanti' are more than just movies; they are reflections of the spirit that flows through the veins of a nation, showcasing the unwavering courage and unity that define a people. And among the pantheon of freedom fighters, Subhas Chandra Bose's legacy burns bright. His resolute patriotism and unyielding dedication serve as a beacon, guiding us to remember that the pursuit of liberty requires audacity and unwavering determination.

The importance of Independence Day, according to me, is related to our freedom. Independence means doing things on our own, being self-reliant, and having our own systems in place. When our systems are running independently and we are not under the control of foreign powers, it's a time when our cultural heritage, our spiritual thinking, and our self-governance are thriving. I believe that on Independence Day, we remember and celebrate the vision that leaders like Arvind Ghosh, Mahatma Gandhi, and Sardar Patel had for building a strong and self-sufficient nation under a native economic system. So, based on our Indian laws, our spiritual thoughts, and our knowledge heritage, we can create a powerful India. I wish everyone on every Independence Day that we recognise our ancient heritage and embrace that ideology, and only then will we not just have a free India but also manifest the concept of India as a global leader. I like all those movies in which patriotism is portrayed, similar to a film like Mission Majnu, where Indian heroes protect the country from external attacks even while staying outside India. The movie Mission Mangal also tells the story of a deported patriot. So, I enjoy movies with such themes. My heartfelt wishes on this Independence Day.

It is 76th Independence Day. It is very important day for each and everyone one of us. Our freedom fighters have fought for us so that we can live freely today and we have a democratic country. We all remember them and thank them not only today but every day. My favourite movie is Ajay Devgan’s movie. Both my grandparents were freedom fighters and they have told me so many stories how those times would be, so I can just feel that how traumatic those times were for us. She I.E. Sushila Devi Bhadoriya passed away last year and she’s my favourite freedom fighter.
