Cheil hires Gauri Awasthi as Head, Digital Biz

Gauri Awasthi joins Cheil Worldwide SW Asia as Head – New Business (Digital). She will lead the ‘New Business’ function at Cheil encompassing own, earn and paid digital media, social, search, e-commerce,  e-crm, UX / UI digital creative and custom media integrated experiential marketing divisions.

She will also add value in creating disruptive business value through consumer marketing, partner marketing and new age media for the current and potential clients. Discover market insights and high-impact business levers to build differentiated business strategy. Blend traditional & digital marketing across mobile, social, display & search marketing to create competitive advantage in the market place. In addition, she will identify & develop win-win scenarios with diverse partners/clients for driving business, market penetration and brand growth for Cheil in the region.

Gauri’s experience of close to 13 years encompasses a multitude of diverse categories ranging from FMCG to technology, education, e-commerce, banking, travel - tourism and health. She has been a visionary who can strategize and then motivate teams to deliver effectively and beyond. Highly Responsible and committed with excellent relation management and transformational skills instrumental for Digital Marketing Strategy & Media Planning for Fortune 100 companies, an innovative go-getter with a passion for creating high impact user experience products/web properties, marketing strategy with a sharp communication and digital advertising. Digital strategy, planning, media buys, social media for clients like (Mom & Me, IFB Appliances, Fortis Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Staples, Mahindra Satyam, Cisco Webex) global digital launches for clients like (Microsoft), integrated marketing communication for clients like (Microsoft, Kerala tourism, Congress) and internet consumer marketing for clients like (IFB, Hamdard Safi, ABP Group, Ibibo group, Icici bank, Fastrack, Seventymm.

She joins from Redwing Solutions, which she joined in January 2013 as Senior Director & VP – Digital Initiatives. At Redwing, she was instrumental in getting the Hamdard Safi digital mandate account for the agency, apart from this was Head of region for their Delhi NCR office, located in Gurgaon.

Prior to that, she was with Reprise Media, a group company of IPG Mediabrands Group. She joined Reprise Media as Senior Director Digital and was handling the Microsoft digital campaigns both local as well as international. She was appointed as a lead for strategy, custom media deals, digital media planning and played a key role in restructuring the team, building-up agency-client relationship, driving successful launches and helping agency reaching its digital revenues in a very short span of time. Her scope of work was not limited to only Online Marketing but she also laid her hands in handling Integrated Custom Media deals which had an amalgamation of both offline + online. In offline the campaigns included TV, Print, Digital Events etc.
