Harley-Davidson announces its Indian team

Legendary motorcycle company ' Harley Davidson ' recently announced its venture into the Indian market and has now formed its national leadership team that will be responsible for various modules of the company like sales, marketing and growth strategies.

Anoop Prakash is the MD of the American firm's wholly-owned Indian subsidiary and Sanjay Tripathi is going to operate as the director of marketing. Rajiv Vohra has been appointed director of sales and dealer development while Yogesh Phogat and Manish Agarwal are directors of operations and finance respectively.

In a statement released to the media, Anoop Prakash, MD, Harley-Davidson Motor Company India Pvt Ltd. Said, "Since we announced our plans for the Indian market in August, our aim has been to establish a strong team with the relevant market experience, expertise and the passion to build Harley-Davidson as a strong and enduring motorcycle brand in India". He added, "With in-depth knowledge of the Indian market, this H-D India team brings with it years of experience in brand building, sales and operations. I welcome them to the H-D family and look forward to a long innings with each of them."

Sanjay Tripathi has been associated with successful brands within the automotive structure. He has worked with Yamaha, Piaggio and Royal Enfield in the past. Rajiv Vohra was with Honda Siel prior to his latest assignment. He was responsible for developing dealer networks, sales training and identifying opportunities to initiate new modules to boost revenues. Vohra will be responsible for driving sales and establishing a skilled Harley-Davidson dealer network in India.

Yogesh Phogat comes to Harley-Davidson with 10 years of experience backing him. Before joining Harley-Davidson, Phogat was with BMW India. He carries the expertise of supply chain management and developing and implementing the logistical support required. Manish Agarwal too come aboard Harley-Davidson from Honda Siel where he was for close to 13 years. Manish has a total experience of 19 years in the domain of finance and accounting.

Harley-Davidson has 107 years of rich heritage behind it and is one of the few motorcycle makers to identify the potential of the premium sector of the Indian biking capsule.
