Hindustan Times launches iPad App!

Hindustan Times is one of India's most respected and leading English dailies. The flagship newspaper of HT Media, the Hindustan Times was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1924.

Hindustan Times has been pioneering trends in journalism, setting standards and breaking new ground for the last 80 years. Spurred by the leading faces of Indian journalism, Hindustan Times has evolved with the times, reflecting the changing India and is today the newspaper of choice of over 3.3 million Indians. Hindustan Times, the market leader of the National Capital Region has in the last decade rapidly expanded its footprint and today reaches readers across the length and breadth of the country, with editions published from Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi and Kolkata.

Unflinching commitment to highest journalistic standards, technological innovations and strong focus on consumer needs has put Hindustan Times in the ranks of the most revered English newspapers in the country,

Keeping in pace with the evolving technical environment Hindustan Times launches its ipad Application, thereby becoming the second English Daily to be available on the device. The application which gives a world class browsing experience to the premium & sophisticated iPad users, is available for free on the iPad App store.

The Application is fed with real time news feed, thereby presenting the latest updates across genres like politics, entertainment, sports, business and more in the form of in-depth analysis, images and videos. Apart from this, the App would also be loaded with HT's exclusive editorial content in the form of features & blogs from some of the country's top journalists and editors. The App would allow users to save and customize their reading pattern, save articles for future reference and share content over email and social networking platforms. This would be one of the very few news apps allowing the reader to express his/her opinion on the content in the form of comments.

"For HT's iPad app, we have tried to exploit all the new things that the platform offers to an user; instead of replicating what the brand's website offers, in keeping with the iPad's versatility, we have adopted a dynamic design that offers customisation and is easy to use." says Sanjoy Narayan, Editor-in-Chief, Hindustan Times.

To create awareness about the app with the relevant audience, Hindustan Times has launched a focused Marketing campaign targeting the tech savvy news consumer. The campaign that has just gone live will be present across mediums including Print and Internet. The application would be available for free on the App store.
