Instagram outage causes suspension of accounts

Just a few days after the popular messaging app WhatsApp went down for a while, another Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram, underwent a glitch. Neitzens went ballistic about this glitch, as many Instagram users lost their followers.
This glitch also included the suspension of many accounts without any notice or warning.
Mihir Shah, CEO and Partner NoFiltr, said: “We have recently witnessed a pattern in Meta’s online properties facing a ‘glitch’ or an outage across the world. Right from WhatsApp to Instagram going down for users across the globe, it’s a sign for those with heavy dependence on these platforms.

While most influencers saw a sudden dip in their followers, most people are unaware of the fact that there was a sharp rise in this number a few days preceding the outage. This makes us rethink our dependence on social media and the infinite content posting that’s going on in digital space."
Instagram users flooded Twitter and shared their experience with the glitch and used the hashtag #instagramdown, and most of the tweets were saying that their account had been disabled because it “doesn’t follow our Community Guidelines”.
