Sanjay Chitale quits Sahara

Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd's (SOMEL) COO, Sanjay Chitale has decided to part with the company and it is learned that he will be with Sahara till the end of November. Chitale enjoys a great international experience and is going to explore lucrative opportunities within the space of media and entertainment.

Chitale joined SOMEL in May 2008 and his responsibility was to manage corporate affairs of the network. He was responsible for channels like Filmy, Firangi and the motion pictures unit of the network.

Prior to being a part of Sahara, Chitale was partner at Hands on Ventures, LLC for four years. He is also credited with founding two software companies, one of which ' Savant Consulting Group ' was absorbed by Hands on Ventures in 2002.

Chaitale also founded the first South Asian lifestyle magazine in 2000 called "Mantram" that he sold to Television 18 in 2003. He also acquired an all Indian-programming FM station in US. He sold the station to private investors in 2005.
