MUMBAI Voted favourate Indian city!!

Condé Nast Traveller India readers chose Mumbai as their favourite Indian city in the inaugural Condé Nast Traveller India Readers' Travels Award 2011. The Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai has been voted as the favourite business hotel. With its diverse cultures, array of restaurants, nightlife and entertainment options, this came as no surprise.

New Delhi with its historic monuments, newly equipped Formula 1 track and evolving hotspots is chosen as the runner-up favourite Indian city. The Oberoi in New Delhi is the runner-up for the best business hotel in India while The Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi came in a close second to Singapore Changi Airport in the favourite airport category.

The top Indian leisure destination is Udaipur with its prestigious The Oberoi Udaivilas winning the favourite leisure hotel and Devi Garh Fort Palace winning the preferred boutique hotel in India. Udaipur, the city of lakes, with its abundant luxurious palace hotels catering to the traveller's every need is the ideal destination for a leisurely holiday. Kerala, well- known for its backwaters, ayurvedic treatments and scenic locales, is the runner-up in the favourite Indian leisure destination category.

The winner of the favourite airline for business travel within India is Kingfisher Airlines with Singapore Airlines winning the favourite airline for business travel overseas whereas Thomas Cook stole the top spot for India's favourite specialist tour operator.

The readers voted for Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa as their favourite destination spa and Kaya Kalp ' the Royal Spa, ITC Mughal, Agra as their favourite hotel spa in India.

In the international categories, Thailand wins India's favourite overseas destination while London fends of competition to come on top in the favourite overseas city.
