Natak Pictures intrigues its audience again with the release of its new short film ‘Happy Birthday’. The Delhi-based film studio released the film on YouTube recently.

Written and directed by Rahul Bhatnagar, ‘Happy Birthday’ is supposedly Natak Pictures’s first for the year 2018. The film is the first of its kind as never in the past has anyone experimented to make a mystery thriller on a topic like domestic violence.

Speaking on the release of the film, Rahul Bhatnagar, says, “With this film, we have tried to touch upon the highly sensitive social issue of domestic violence with a very creative yet careful approach. The feel of the film has been intentionally kept dark to complement its diabolical story”.

He adds, “Though the message we are trying to bring out through the film is very basic and obvious but the manner in which it is presented will definitely give goose bumps to the audience.”

The cast of the film, chosen by Tanya Singh is a mix of old and new faces. Playing the protagonist (Niti) is Kritika Bharadwaj, while Radha Bhatt, the popular actress from the Zee TV’s serial ‘Zindagi Ki Mehak’, plays the role of Niti’s older self. Playing the role of the husband (Ravi) is Dhruv Thukral; that of the policeman is Mahesh Bhatnagar and Milind Tyagi plays the role of the novelist.

The music of the film, that has added to the mysterious gene of the film was given by Sumit Sharma.
