Saath Nibhana Sathiya replaces Balika Vadhu: What's On India TV Trend

On 6th November 2012, Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and TV Search Company What's-On-India, released  What’s On India TV Trends, their Weekly Trending Programs list for Week 44 (Oct 28-Nov 3).

In week 44 Bigg Boss (Colors) continues to be the most popular Hindi TV Show. As a result daily soap-duo Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is at 2nd place and Bade Acche Lagte Hain (Sony) continues to be in  3rd place for the second week in a row. Among the Top 5 list Saath Nibhana Sathiya has replaced Balika Vadhu and CID has replaced Yeh Rista Kya Kehlata hai to be in the 4th and 5th place respectively.

In the Hindi Movies category we see no change this week and Bol Bachchan (Star Gold) continues to be the most popular among What’s-On-India users.  Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore features 2nd on the list. Yamraj Ek Faulad (dubbed in Hindi) is in the 3rd place. The list completes with The mighty Khans of Bollywood. Shahrukh Khan’s Chak De India! features in the 4th place and Aamir Khan’s Ghajini  in 5th place respectively.

Two and a Half Men is the undisputed leader in the English TV shows category. But there are changes among the other shows in this category. Grey’s Anatomy has done well to reach the 2nd spot thereby replacing How I Met Your Mother (Star World) and the latter has dropped to the 3rd spot. In week 44 The Big Bang Theory does not feature in the list but instead has been replaced with Supernatural and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not ! now the 4th and 5th spot respectively.

In the English Movies category, among the all fiction list is a  true story inspired Brad Pitt starrer Moneyball on Pix which claims to be at the top spot. Going as per last week’s trend Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (HBO) and Iron Man (Movies Now) continue to be at 2nd and 4th spot respectively and Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince (WB) has now claimed the 3rd spot.

The most popular Barclays Premier League 2012/13, the Live Football action dominates in the Sports category. The  quarter final round matches of Capital One Cup 2012/13 has made it to the 3rd spot and Spanish Liga BBVA 2012/13, the third football show in the list is presently at 5th spot. It is interesting to note that FIA F1 World C’ship 2012 has taken over by  two spots and is now in the 2nd position.

Where Kids, Documentaries, Lifestyle & Food category is concerned not much change is seen. Kid’s favourite animated cartoon series, Doraemon (Disney & Hungama) continues to be at the top and is closely followed by personal technology show, Tech Guru (CNBC Awaaz). In week 44 the change evident in this category is that Dynamo: Magician Impossible is out of the list and has been replaced by Air Crash Investigation (Nat Geo). Turban Tadka(Food Food) and What Not To Wear – India(TLC) continues to remain as before in the list.

Among Regional TV shows category Choopulu Kalisina Shubhavela (MAA TV) has taken over to bring down Kumkumapoovu (Asianet) which ruled till recently. Businessman (Gemini TV) features as the most popular movie in the Regional Movies category.
