After surviving The Hunger Games twice, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) becomes the symbol of mass rebellion - 'The Mockingjay' and fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), who is now brainwashed by President Snow, suddenly warns that the Capitol is about to attack District 13. Grateful to Peeta's warning, Coin (Julianne Moore) dispatches a team of special elite forces along with Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Mason (Jena Malone) and Cresta (Stef Dawson) to rescue Peeta and other prisoners as per the condition kept by Katniss while becoming the Mockingjay.
