Twitter acquires newsletter service Revue

Twitter has acquired Revue, a service that helps anyone create and get paid for their newsletter. This will help both platforms drive more conversations simultaneously and enable users to subscribe to the newsletters by their favorite authors directly via Twitter. It will also enable writers to direct them to their private, longer content while topics of premium content will flow back to Twitter.

The company has stated that Revue Pro will free for all users. Twitter has also lowered the Revue newsletter fee to 5% which means that writers' share of profits from subscribers will be greater. This creates a massive opportunity for brands and authors to leverage their large Twitter followings and get into the their inbox.
