Weekend Exclusive | I've learnt a lot from this journey: TV Actor, Dolly Minhas

Dolly Minhas, a popular Indian actress, model and Miss India winner in the year 1988, has acted in Punjabi, Hindi and Kannada films. Dolly Minhas was seen playing the grey-shaded Veera in Star Plus' Grahasti, Baa Bahu Aur Baby on Star Plus and Behenien. Talking about films, she was seen in movies like Bombay Dreams (2004), Mel Karade Rabba, Tera Mera Ki Rishta(2009, Hindi), Sat Sri Akal(2008, Hindi), Good Luck!(2008), Pyaar Mein Twist(Hindi, 2005), Ab Ke Baras(Hindi, 2002), Game(1993) and Mr. Bond(1992).

In an exclusive chat with Adgully, Dolly Minhas spoke about her life, her characters and much more.

Dolly's journey has been, in her own words, "really amazing and wonderful. I learnt a lot from this voyage as I played n number of roles and characters."

Speaking about her past characters, she said, "Recently I was playing a very different role of a aristocratic lady in a serial called "Behenien.' It had all different shades and I enjoyed it as well as at times being unpredictable is really fun."

Dolly Minhas is currently playing "Dadi's' role in SAB TV's new show 'Chintu Chinky Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story'. A little reluctant and skeptical about playing "dadi's character' so soon, she said, "Dadi, here is really fun loving and full of life and very practical and modern and pretty relaxed about love marriages. She is still a young lady in terms of her thoughts and young at heart. She is not that typical sixty year old woman. I love this character."

Hence shifting base from a really negative role she jumped to a really positive role. "The main challenge, she believes is in being a daily soap actor and to live up the challenge of the fact that the story might take any direction. You get to experience a lot in this field but at the same time you get to face many ups and downs."

Telling about her favorite pass time she said, "I love playing with my two little doggies."

On a conclusive note she gave a piece of advice to the new entrants and signed off. She said, "Before entering in this field you need to be really passionate and patient about things."

Dolly belongs to Punjab and was raised in Chandigarh. After falling in love with the director of her first film, Anil Matoo, she got married. She later acted in some Punjabi and Kannada films and TV serials. | By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal(at)adgully.com]
