Zee News becomes free-to-air channel

Zee Media Corporation has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the company had, vide circular resolution passed on May 6, 2016, approved the migration of Zee News from pay channel to free-to-air channel.

As is known, Zee Media had recently entered into a channel distribution pact with Zee Entertainment Enterprises at 7 per cent revenue sharing on the subscription revenues of the television channels of Zee Media. The company had terminated existing arrangement with Taj Television India for distribution of Zee Media’s TV channels.

Zee Media’s bouquet comprises 10 news channels in six Indian languages, including the flagship Zee News, Hindi business news channel Zee Business and India 24x7.
