BARC Wk 26 ratings: Star Plus at No.1; Colors & Zee TV gain grounds

BARC ratings for Week 26 (June 24-30) [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] saw Colors and Zee TV move up the charts. With the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 now over, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was back as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. New show on Colors, ‘Chandrakanta’ also wooed the viewers. 

Star Plus, which had climbed back to the No. 1 spot in Week 25, held on to this position this week as well. The channel garnered a gross viewership of 603,213, an increase from 593,712 recorded last week. 

Zee Anmol, which had climbed up from the fourth spot to No. 2 in Week 25, remained in this position this week as well, witnessing an increase in its gross viewership – from 580,287 last week to 591,440 in Week 26. 

Rishtey climbed up a notch to the third spot in Week 26, garnering a gross viewership of 583,295, an increase from 546,014 recorded last week. Re-run of ‘Naagin – Season 2’ on the channel was the fourth most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban, witnessing 8,341Impressions (000s). 

Colors continued its climb in Week 26 as well, reaching the fourth spot. The channel had moved up a couple of notches from No. 7 to the fifth spot in Week 25. Colors reported a gross viewership of 556,816 this week, a further jump from 496,646 recorded last week. New show on Colors, the fantasy drama ‘Chandrakanta’ registered 8,679 Impressions (000s) this week and was the third most watched show on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. 

Zee TV climbed up a notch to No. 5 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 556,117, a jump from 479,152 recorded in Week 25. Two of its shows were among the top rated shows on Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban. ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was back as the most watched show on Hindi GECs, witnessing 11,149 Impressions (000s), while ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ followed in the second spot with 9,597 Impressions (000s). 

Meanwhile, Sony Pal’s slide continued, with the channel dropping to No. 6 in Week 26 from the third spot last week. The channel reported a gross viewership of 530,875, a further decline from 560,468 recorded in Week 25. 

Sony SAB continued in the seventh spot in Week 26, garnering a gross viewership of 419,934, a decline from 445,866 recorded last week. 

Sony Entertainment Television moved up a notch to the eighth spot in Week 26, reporting a gross viewership of 363,351, compared to 379,146 recorded last week. 

Life OK, too, moved up a notch to No. 9 this week, garnering a gross viewership of 339,029, a decline from 346,293 recorded in Week 25. 

Star Utsav, which was missing from the top 10 list for the last two weeks, re-entered the charts in Week 26 and was placed in the tenth spot. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 274,686. 

With the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 now over, DD National moved out of the list of top 10 Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban in Week 26. However, the Royal Stag Cup cricket tie between India and West Indies was the fifth most watched show on Hindi GECs, garnering 8,255 Impressions (000s).
