McCann Erickson bags six metals at the Olive Crown Awards

The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) organized by the IAA Olive Crown Awards was held at the Palladium, Lower Parel, Mumbai on 14th March 2014. 19 awards were distributed at the fourth edition of the awards event.

A new award has been introduced by the IAA this year being the Corporate Social Crusader of the Year for the most outstanding CSR initiative by a corporate body.

This year McCann Erickson has topped the list bagging a total of six awards which includes four gold and two silver metals. The agency won gold for their campaigns Bumper, Disposable and Wake Up Clean Up in the Press Corporate, OOH, Campaign of the Year and Green Agency of the Year categories and under the Press Services and TVC/Cinema Unreleased categories their campaigns World War and Fish won them the silver awards.

Close on the heels of McCann is Dentsu which has won three silver awards this year for their Your Cartoons My Classrooms campaign under the TVC/Cinema - Corporate, Events and Campaign of the Year categories.

Meanwhile DDB Mudra has won one gold for Young Green Art Director of the Year, bagged by Sanuree Gomes and a silver for their campaign Help Desk in the Green Brand Of the Year category.

Two silver metals have been won by FCB Ulka for their campaigns Tiger/Gorilla and The Tree Story in the Press Corporate and Print Production categories.
Two golds have been bagged by Team HUL at this year’s awards for its Project Sunlight launch campaign in Green Brand of the Year and Corporate Social Crusader of the Year categories.

The silver award in the Young Green Art Director of the Year category for the campaign, Good Paper Project was won by Amit Thakur of Leo Burnett.

Niche Minds campaign We Live in a Blue Planet under the TVC Cinema Corporate category , FoxyMoron’s silver award in Digital for Power-  Light a Village campaign and Webchutney’s gold win in the same category for their Mr. Wasted Bin campaign were some of the other winners of the evening.

Other agencies which bagged metals at the event include Touchstone Advertising and Marketing Services which won a silver award for its OOH campaign, Asha, Mathrubhumi which won a gold for its campaign, Seed, in the Corporate Social Crusader of the Year category and  BBMP, a Karnataka state government agency, which won gold in the Green Advertiser of the Year category.

Hungama.com and the Patrika Group were the ‘Green Partners’ of this edition of the Olive Crown Awards while Yes Bank was their banking partner. The presenting sponsor for the third consecutive year is 9XM.

Endorsed by the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA), the Olive Crowns awards recognizes and celebrates ‘Green Advertising’ and is Asia’s one and only award that salutes excellence in communicating sustainability.
