The Telegraph appoints Sankarshan Thakur as the Editor

The Telegraph has appointed Sankarshan Thakur, former Editor, National Affairs, as the Editor of the publication. He has around four decades of experience in media where he started his career with the ‘Sunday Magazine’ in the year 1984. Previously he assumed the role of an associate editor at the Indian Express and The Telegraph. He has been a member of the launching team of ‘Tehelka’ weekly in 2004. In his journalism career, he has been covering Kashmir and Bihar widely. In 2001, for his excellence in political journalism, he was awarded with the ‘Prem Bhatia’ award. In the year 2003, he was awarded with the Appan Menon Fellowship for writing a book on Kashmir. He is the author of the book ‘The Making of Laloo Yadav, The Unmasking of Bihar’ on the life of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former Bihar Chief Minister. He is also the author of ‘Single Man: The Life & Times of Nitish Kumar of Bihar’, which is a biography on the Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar as well as he has written ‘The Brothers Bihari’, which is the biography of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav. His other works include Monographs on the Kargil War, Honor killing in Uttar Pradesh and Pakistan. Originally from Patna, Sankarshan Thakur is a political science student from ‘The Hindu’ College of Delhi University. He is also a part of the Apex organisation of editors in the country,  Editors Guild of India.
