TV this week: Colors at #2; Star Plus leads the race
Data sourced from TAM subscribers for CS 4+ HSM , markets for Week 8 indicates that Star Plus continues to lead among Hindi general entertainment channels (GEC). Although the channel’s GRPs have decreased to 248 points in Week 8 from 259 points in Week 7 the channel continues to be at no. 1 position.
On the other hand Colors presently at no. 2 has gained 30 points thus clocking 235 GRPs this week. Another interesting factor to note is that five shows on the channel including the premier of Akshay Kumar starrer Khiladi 786 were among the 10 most watched show on Hindi GECs.
Channel ZeeTV has garnered 231 GRPs in Week 8 . The channel has gained five points in comparison to last weeks ratings and is now in the 3rd position.
At 4th position is Sony with 188 GRPs, and seen to be up 24 points since last week's 164 points.
Life OK continues to be in the fifth position with 144 GRPs and SAB TV which is now at no. 6 and has clocked 138 GRPs in week 8 of 2013 . Both channels have garnered two points since last week (week7)
Star Utsav which has garnered 51 GRPs in Week 8; a trend seen to be continuing from last week and Sahara One has garnered 24 GRPs in week 8.
The screening of Khiladi 786 on Colors with 5.1 TVRs, was the most watched programme on Hindi GECs in Week 8 of 2013 and thus at no. 1 spot . The ratings of the other top ten fiction shows on the Hindi GEC space are as follows: Diya Aur Bati Hum has clocked a rating of 4.6TVR . Next comes Balika Vadhu with 4.3 TVR , Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai at 4.2 TVR , Pavitra Rishta (Zee TV) and Madhubala (Colors) with 4.1 TVRs , Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Madhubala both garnering 3.8 TVR, Sasural Simar Ka 3.7 TVR , Sapane Suhane Ladakpan Ke and Saath Nibhana Saathiya both with 3.6 TVR and Pyar Ka Dard Meetha Meetha and Qubool hai at 3.5 TVR.
Where the non-fiction genre is concerned , Zee TV’s India’s Best Dramebaaz clocked a TVR of 3.5, while the Filmfare Awards on Sony Entertainment Television garnered 3.6 TVR as per data sourced from TAM subscribers for CS 4+ HSM markets for Week 8 of 2013
