TV this week: Colors surges ahead in rating charts!

Colors, Star Plus, and SAB TV are the only channels to gain in week 11, 2014 with Colors gaining maximum viewership of 31 million TVTs.  Star Plus, the undisputed leader has continued to remain above the 700 mark and witnessed a gain of 10 million TVTs thus strengthening its position further in the GEC chart. Other Hindi GECs, Zee, Life OK and Sony  have registered a considerable drop in their ratings this week and no change is seen in the pecking order as per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 11, 2014 (March 9 – March 15) for CS 4+, HSM markets. 

Detailed data of the GEC’s ratings are as follows (previous week’s figures in the brackets):

Star Plus at the top of the GEC chart gained viewership this week to record 727   million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) (717 million) 
Zee TV ratings dipped this week and recorded 501 million GVTs (528 million) and continues to remain at 2nd spot.

Colors, at no.3, with a substantial jump in its ratings has recorded 466 million GVTs as against 435 million GVTs last week. The channel has gained 31 million TVTs.
Life OK saw a dip in viewership in week 11. The channel recorded 361 million GVTs (373 million). The channel still at no. 4 lost 12 million TVTs this week
SAB TV at no. 5 spot has grabbed eyeballs this week thus registering a score of 313 million GVTs (305 million)      

Sony viewership plunged further to record 291 million GVTs (301 million). The channel has lost viewership and has slipped to its original 6th position.
Sahara One has recorded a steep downslide in its ratings and registered 31 million GVTs (38 million) in week 11, 2014.
