TV this week: Life OK surges ahead!

Star Plus and Zee TV are the only two channels which have registered a decline in viewership in week 12 of TAM 2014. Star Plus ratings took a sharp plunge and lost 78 million TVTs and Zee too lost eyeballs to a lesser extent but despite the dip in ratings both channels have held on to their 1st and 2nd position respectively. Meanwhile the other GECs in the chart Colors, SAB TV and Sony have clocked marginal increase in their ratings with Life OK gaining maximum viewership this week. The channel’s ratings surged ahead adding 35 million TVTs this week and is on the verge of touching the 400 mark. All channels have retained their original positions as per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 12, 2014 (March 16 – March 22) for CS 4+, HSM markets. 

Also worthy of mention is the fact that the most popular talk show - Satyamev Jayate that has been making waves on Star Plus has clocked in higher ratings this season.

The three episodes aired on the channel till date has reached out to a whopping 26 crore Indians. As per TAM data for week 12, Satyamev Jayate’s cumulative reach for the first three weeks now stands at 9 crore viewers.  The show recorded 5,720 TVTs in week 3 in all India (All 4+, All India) and a HSM TVT of 5,045 (All 4+, HSM).

Detailed data of the GEC’s ratings are as follows (previous week’s figures in the brackets):

Star Plus at the top of the GEC chart witnessed a huge drop in viewership this week to record 649 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 727 million GVTs recorded last week . The channel’s ratings dipped by 78 million TVTs

Zee TV ratings dipped slightly this week and recorded 489 million GVTs (501 million) and continues to remain at 2nd spot.

Colors has registered a negligible increase of 468 million GVTs as against 466 million GVTs last week. The channel continues to remain at 3rd spot.
Life OK viewership has picked up in week 12 and the channel with a substantial gain of 35 million TVTs has recorded 396 million GVTs (361 million). The channel remains at no. 4 

SAB TV at no. 5 has seen a jump in its ratings this week and registered a score of 326 million GVTs (313 million)      
Sony Entertainment Television viewership increased to record 313 million GVTs (291 million). The channel has gained but continues to remain in the 6th position.
Sahara One ratings climbed slightly with 33 million GVTs (31 million) in week 12, 2014.
