TV this week: Star shines in 2013 as well!

Yes, it’s Star again! Star Plus takes the first position again in 2013 with 287 GRPs. For third time in a row, STAR Plus’ special New Year eve offering - Big Star Entertainment Awards emerged as the undisputed leader on television with a magnificent rating of 5.9 TVR watched by every fourth HSM viewer with STAR Plus remaining the  undisputed leader  with 287 GRPs.

Nachiket Pantvaidya, GM, STAR Plus says, “STAR Plus’ aim with Big Star Entertainment awards was to make New Year ’s Eve a special and memorable one for the entire family and keep them entertained through the night. It is indeed heartening to see a brilliant response from our viewers. This is just the beginning for 2013 and we have great entertainment lined up for the year”.
Colors with an addition of 15 GRPs has registered 238 GRPs this week and holds the No. 2 slot. No tie is seen this week since  Zee TV managed to take the third position this time with 211 GRPs (after gaining 13 GRPs) and Sony has subsequently slipped  to the fourth position after losing 18 GRPs hence registering 180 GRPs.

Losing 6 GRPs from the previous week  SAB TV presently takes the 5th position with 150 GRPs . On the other hand Life OK is at No. 6 and have registered 114 GRPs, after gaining 4 GRPs from previous week.

In the programming list as well, Star Plus shines again. Star Plus’ New Year eve property, Big Star Entertainment Awards takes the first position. Balika Vadhu is at No. 2 with 5.14 TVRs followed by Diya Aur Baati Hum and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, both in a tie and in the third position  with 4.68 TVRs .Next in the list comes Saathiya Saath Nibhana with 4.59 TVR, followed by Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke with 4.47 TVRs at no.6. Colors’ property Golden Petal Awards, is at No.7 and has registered 4.45 TVRs as per this week’s ratings.
