TV this week: Zee TV & SAB notch up scores this week

Zee TV and SAB are the only channels to notch up scores this week on the back of maximum viewership. Star Plus continues to lead the GEC space in week 46 followed by Colors and Zee in 2nd & 3rd position respectively. While Sahara One too witnessed considerable gain in viewership this week, of late SAB TV and Sony are seen to be alternating positions and with a decline in viewership the latter has once again slipped to its original 6th position as per TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 46 (November 10 - November 16) for CS 4+, HSM markets.

Following are the detailed GVT’s recorded by the Hindi GECs this week: Star Plus leads among the GECs but witnessed a marginal drop in its ratings and has recorded a score of 529193 GVTs (536270). Stable in 2nd position is Colors which registered a score of 479010 GVTs (486423). In contrast to last week this week Zee TV grabbed eyeballs to record 440447 GVTs (428610) and continues in the 3rd spot. With a dip in viewership Life OK remains steady in 4th position with the channel registering a score of 340200 GVTs (344624). SAB TV this week is once again in the 5th position with a noticeable rise in its ratings and has recorded 315637 GVTs (310534). Meanwhile Sony lost viewership and the channel’s ratings took a huge dip to score 297801 GVTs (341054) bringing the channel to the 6th position once again in week 46 of TAM. This week Sahara One picked up viewership to register a score of 35749 GVTs (31549) but continues to remain at the bottom of the chart.
Now moving on to the ratings of the most watched shows on the Hindi GECs:

The two most popular shows on Star Plus, Diya aur Baati Hum and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai both gained eyeballs this week to register 11223 TVTs (10921) and 7335 TVTs (7039) respectively. Pyar Ka Dard Hai viewership remained stable as it registered 7774 TVTs (7754) while the most watched serial Saath Nibhana Saathiya ratings increased marginally to record a score of 7708 TVTs (7518). The epic series Mahabharata has gained viewership and garnered 5807 TVTs (5475) and with a drop in viewership, ratings of Saraswati Chandra registered a score of 4803 TVTs (4896) in week 46.

The increasing popularity of reality show Bigg Boss 7 on Colors has helped the show gain this week and has recorded 5316 TVTs (5133) while long running series Balika Vadhu ratings decreased this week to record 7298 TVTs (7581). Meanwhile a marginal drop in viewership led Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon to record 4473 TVTs (4594). The interesting track in Uttaran this week saw a rise in its ratings and registered 4096 TVTs (3690) and similarly the popular show Comedy Nights with Kapil too registered a huge increase in its ratings and garnered a score of 8588 TVTs (7357). Meanwhile Bani - Ishk da Kalma ratings increased marginally to register 4201 TVTs (3910) and the thriller series ‘24’, on the channel lost points and recorded 2881 TVTs (3222) this week.

Zee TV’s historical show Jodha Akbar has notched up  to record a score of 9176 TVTs (8989) while the fictional series Qubool Hai ratings witnessed a rise to record 5646 TVTs (5397).  Pavitra Rishta ratings too picked up and registered a score of 4879 TVTs (4345).  Viewership of drama series Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se is on the rise and has garnered 5622 TVTs (5159).  The recently launched Dance reality show DID 4 viewership registered 5547 TVTs (5550) on Saturday and witnessed a huge increase in viewership with a score of 5075 TVTs (3806) on Sunday. The new comedy offering on the channel Bh se Bhade is grabbing viewership and has garnered 2080 TVTs (1735) in week 46 of TAM.

The popular mythological series Mahadev on Life OK continues to lead in this genre and has garnered 3693 TVTs (3073) in week 46. Viewership of Do Dil Ek Jaan increased to register 1472 TVTs (1438). The other offerings on the channel, namely, Savdhan India picked up marginally to register a score of 2848 TVTs (2730)  and ratings of Shapath, a favourite now with viewers has notched up to register 4392 TVTs (3418). Meanwhile among the new shows on the channel, Ek Boond Ishq too has picked up to record 3112 TVTs (2528) this week.

The long running crime series CID on Sony Entertainment Television witnessed a dip in its ratings and recorded a score of 4744 TVTs (5501) this week.  Crime Patrol too followed suit and registered a score of 3887 TVTs (4284).  Historical show Maharana Pratap on the channel registered 2922 TVTs (2668) while ratings of Bade Ache Lagte too increased marginally as it registered a score of 1988 TVTs (1871)while latest addition on the channel viz. Nandini lost viewership  and recorded 850 TVTs (972). Ratings of the most watched show KBC on the channel is fluctuating and has recorded 3738 TVTs (4029) while the new horror flick Bhoot Aaya gained eyeballs as it registered 1792 TVTs as against last week’s score of  1583 TVTs in week 46 of TAM.

Fiction show on SAB TV, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah remains the undisputed channel leader and the popular show has taken a huge jump and garnered a score of 7782 TVTs (7135) in week 46. Chidiya Ghar too gained points to record 3265 TVTs (2836), Lapataganj on the channel registered a score of 1986 TVTs (1894) and Baalveer viewership too increased to register 3134 TVTs (2375) thus indicating a climb in the ratings of  most shows on the channel  this week.

The ratings of the movie channels genre this week are as follows: Zee Cinema viewership dipped this week to register 185759 GVTs (218568), Star Gold ratings too saw a huge plunge in its ratings as it recorded 174020 GVTs (217861). So also Movies OK which too saw a drop in viewership to record 130641 GVTs (138425). The increased viewership of movie channel &pictures led to a huge jump thus garnering 77910 GVTs (71225).  Zee Anmol ratings increased and registered 44457 GVTs (41776) while Max on the other hand saw a marginal drop in its ratings to register a score of 173908 GVTs (197869)   as per data recorded  in week 46 of TAM, 2013.
