94.3 MY FM wins Gold for 'Borderless Radio'

94.3 MY FM has won Gold in the ‘Best Special Event’ category for ‘Borderless Radio’, at the recently held New York Festival. The event ’Borderless Radio’, was a joint effort by 94.3 MY FM in India and Radio 1 FM 91 in Pakistan which brought together artists from both countries celebrating their independence. The competition honors content in all lengths and forms and celebrates the exceptional and innovative programs being created on all continents.

Aired on the 14th and 15th of August 2012, ‘Aazadi Sarhadon Se’ featured special performances and music dedicated by the artists from both countries for this special celebration. ‘Aazadi Sarhado Se’ was specially programmed to air simultaneously in the 17 MY FM cities in India and major cities in Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Gawadar. The show consisted of two episodes of three hours each aired on August 14th and 15th. RJs and renowned personalities from both stations and countries contributed to the show with their messages and performances.”

Dedicated to the radio industry, the Grand Jury is made up of 100 directors, producers, journalists, writers, actors, creative directors, composers, on-air talent, and programming executives from around the world who are all award-winners themselves.  They are actively involved in what is being made today around the globe. That mix of perspectives is one of the strengths of this jury process to determine the World’s Best Radio. The winners were announced on Monday, June 17th at the Manhattan Penthouse in New York.
