Disney Publishing partners with India Today to distribute Disney Magazine in India

Disney Publishing Worldwide (India), a division of The Walt Disney Company (India), today signed a multi-year license agreement with India Today Group, one of the leading publishing groups in the country, for publishing and distributing licensed Disney content by way of magazines in India.

Commenting on the deal, Roshini Bakshi, VP, Consumer Products, Publishing and Retail, said, "We are delighted to partner with India Today, to further deepen our reach in the country. With India Today's market and consumer insights and our strengths in storytelling we aim to provide kids and families more access to our content, where and when they want it."

India Today Group CEO Ashish Bagga says "We are delighted to work with Disney Publishing and provide young readers with great content. More than one third of India is young and around 333 million people of this segment are literate.* We are excited about serving this vast youth population with a range of colorful, entertaining and engaging stories".

Ranging from INR 50 to 100, Disney magazines will be available on stands and through subscriptions. The frequency will be a mix of single edition, monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly depending on the product. The content will be based on some of the popular franchises including Disney Princess, Disney.Pixar Cars, Art Attack, Disney Junior and much more.

The kids publishing business in India is currently growing at 25 per cent year-on-year and the estimated market size is USD 1.15 billion. Source: Technopak
