TV this week: IPL could not dislodge the viewer's interest from Star Plus!

The IPL season seems to have dominated television screens and consequently affected ratings of the Hindi General Entertainment channels during Week 15 (April 7 – April 13) of TAM 2013.

Sony Max has always held the no.1 position during the various seasons of IPL but this time round Star Plus has succeeded in overtaking Max during the first full week of the season. Star Plus recorded 252 GRPs while Sony Max garnered 234 GRPs in week 15 as per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for the CS 4+, HSM markets.

Although still at No. 1 among Hindi GECs, Star Plus lost a maximum of 32 points  followed by Zee TV which lost 22 points in Week 15. Meanwhile Colors, Sony  SAB and Life OK have managed to remain steady with not much change seen in their rating points.

Star Plus persists to lead inspite of losing 32 points and recorded 252 GRPs this week (last week 284).

Zee TV losing 22 points in the first full week of IPL garnered 163 GRPs as against last week’s  185 GRPs.

Sony Entertainment Television recorded 160 GRPs this week (last week 164).

Colors managed to remain stable with 156 GRPs (last week 156).

SAB TV ratings increased by  a single point to garner 137 GRPs (last week 136).

Life OK too followed a similar trend to record 111 GRPs as against last weeks  110 GRPs.

Among the most watched list of shows , Diya Aur Baati Hum continues to lead with 3.9 TVR. Pyaar Ka Dard and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai follow to be in the second and third positions with 3.2 and 3.1 TVR respectively.
