TV this week: Life OK gets back to #4

Star Plus, Colors and Zee have held on to the first three positions in Week 39 while Sony which of late is seen to be fluctuating in its ratings lost viewership to be replaced by Life OK which has once again grabbed the 4th position this week.

As per GVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 38 (September 22 – September 28) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Life OK has bounced back to 4th position with SAB TV gradually inching towards the former thus taking the 5th position  this week . Colors though in 2nd position has widened the gap with Star Plus while Zee TV is stable at No. 3 position. Sony has once again lost out in terms of viewership and is back at the no. 6 spot among the Hindi GECs.

Following are the detailed GVT’s of the respective channels:  Star Plus is still the leader at no. 1 although the channel witnessed a marginal decrease in viewership  reporting 506,317 GVTs ( 534590). Colors at no.2 also saw a dip and recorded 458409 GVTs (479,892) . Viewership of Zee TV continuing in the 3rd spot too plunged this week and recorded 384,111 GVTs (413,707)   . In week 39 Life OK has returned to the 4th position and a surge was seen in the channel’s ratings as it recorded a score of 334306 GVTs (313138) .  SAB TV in 5th position too registered an increase in its ratings and registered 331,772   GVTs (289471)   in week 38 . At 6th spot Sony has once again lost viewership  and recorded  286083 GVTs (327,089)   Sahara One continues to be at the bottom of the list though a marginal rise in is seen in viewership as it  registered a  score of 26838 GVTs (26495 )  .

Now coming to the various popular shows of the top Hindi GECs for Week 39 their ratings   are as follows:

The two most popular shows on Star Plus,  Diya aur Baati Hum and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai both saw a drop  in their ratings to record 9614 TVTs (9819)   and 6328 TVTs (6587)  respectively.  Pyar Ka Dard Hai recorded 7191 TVTs (7342) while Saathiya notched up points to register 7101 TVTs (6456). The epic series Mahabharata that was launched recently lost eyeballs  to record 5518 TVTs (6356) .

Reality show Bigg Boss 7 which premiered on Colors lost viewership this week and registered 4811 TVTs (5080) while long running series Balika Vadhu that has taken an interesting turn notched up points to record 7797 TVTs (6551) . Meanwhile decrease in viewership led Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon to record 4743 TVTs (4990).  Uttaran recorded a score of 3464  TVTs (4140) and comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil garnered 6804 TVTs (7244).  Thus most shows on the channel with the exception of Balika Vadhu indicate  a dip in ratings in week 39

Zee TV’s fictional series Qubool Hai lost viewership and thus recorded 5511 TVTs (6340) . Pavitra Rishta too followed suit to score 4421 TVTs (4733)  while Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke notched up to garner 5343TVTs (5035) . The interesting track   on historical show Jodha Akbar has led to the series registering a score of 8027 TVTs (8025). The drama series Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se has picked up and thus registered 4675 TVTs (4612) while the ratings of its other  new offering Buddha  dipped marginally to record 1305 TVTs (1537) .

Most shows on channel Life OK have seen increased viewership in Week 39. The channel’s  top series Mahadev has notched up its points and recorded 3623 TVTs (3588)  Do Dil Ek Jaan ratings decreased to record 1725 TVTs (1801)  . The other offerings on the channel, namely, Savdhan India surged ahead to record 2563 TVTs (2300)  while Shapath lost viewership and registered 3729  TVTs (3988). Gustakh Dil on the channel notched up to record a score of 1973 TVTs (1669)

Fiction show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV remains the undisputed channel leader. The show has grabbed eyeballs and recorded a score of 8096 TVTs (7276).   Chidiya Ghar gained to record 3176 TVTs (3045) and Lapataganj lost viewership this week and registered a score of 2015 TVTs (2066). Baalveer notched up to garner 2835 TVTs (2,605).

The long running crime series CID on Sony witnessed an increase and recorded a score of  5505  TVTs (5070) while in contrast  Crime Patrol saw a decline in viewership  and scored 4789 TVTs ( 6415) .  Historical show Maharana Pratap ratings dipped marginally to generate  2840 TVTs (3266)  . Popular show KBC on the channel lost points this week to record 5176 TVTs (6134) and Comedy Circus picked up substantially and garnered  3505 TVTs (3092)    in Week 39.

In the movie channel's genre: Zee Cinema saw an increase and garnered 201334 GVTs (187397)   ; Star Gold too witnessed a marginal rise to record 183757GVTs (177,380),   Movies OK too saw an increase in its ratings and recorded 107863 GVTs (96047), the new entrant among movie channels, &pictures has fared exceptionally well and garnered 67942 GVTs (67480) while Max witnessed a dip in viewership and recorded a  score of  207046 GVTs (210,021)    in week 39 of TAM, 2013.
