Bindass all set to rock with folk music

In a bid to refresh itself, Bindass launched its new brand campaign ”REST LESS”. Bindass has also launched the Bindass Swarathma Rest Less Tour as an extension to this campaign.

 

The tour which will happen across three cities in May, will include performances of acclaimed Bangalore-based folk rock band Swarthma as it takes the Bindass tagline of Rest less one step further promising to make audiences “ROCK MORE &REST LESS”.Not only this,Swarathma will also create an exclusive Bindass anthem that will incorporate the REST LESS spirit of the youth. The anthem’s composition will be derived from the bands interaction with youngsters in the course of  the multi-city tour.Bindass Swarathma Rest Less Tour will also mark the launch of Swarathma’s second album called “Topiwalleh”

 

Swarathma is an award winning folk-rock band from Bangalore that comprises of Vasu Dixit (vocals and rhythm guitar), Pavan Kumar KJ (percussion and vocals), Montry Manuel (drums), Varun (lead guitar and vocals), SanjeevNayak (violin and vocals) and JishnuDasgupta (bass guitar and vocals).

 

Swarathma was started in 2002 by  three friends;Vasu Dixit,Abhinav Kumar and Pawan Kumar as a college band. The band was re-grouped in 2006.”The name Swarathma was chosen because of the philosophical connect between swar(Sound) and aatma(Soul) and it was suggested by a former bandmate Abhinav Kumar,”says Pavan Kumar of Swarathma.

 

The aim of the band is to reach out to people in small towns and increase the accessibility of music. “Swarathma was formed with the ideal of making original music,”says Vasu Dixit. Their sources of inspiration have been bands like Indian Ocean and they have been followers of different styles of music. Talking about the tie-up with Bindass for the anthem and the launch of their second album, Vasu Dixit the vocalist from the band says, “It’s great that a popular youth brand like Bindass promotes Folk rock as a genre. This will definitely help us reach out to our audience on a much larger scale. All of us in the band are really excited about the Bindass Swarathma Rest Less tour and more so about the anthem that we are going to put together. It’s the first time that we will document our experiences with inputs from the youth and compose such an anthem…it’s truly going to be a unique sound.”

 

The first lap of Swarathma’s album will take place in Delhi followed by Lucknow and then Mumbai, shares Pavan Kumar. The album will be available for purchase at https://www.flipkart.com/swarathma.Users can download it or book it online from the website. Interestingly,acclaimed composer/producer Loy Mendonsa has worked with the band this time around and helped them polish their new compositions, while retaining the ethos of the band’s identity.This album also represents a subtle shift in the Swarathma sound. While they stay true to their folk roots, the compositions reflect the development in the band members’ individual sense of music over the last three years.
