EMVIES'12: 734 entries across 23 categories!

The Advertising Club Bombay started EMVIEs the premier media awards in 2001. This year the Ad Club completes twelve years.
 
The Ad Club this year has received 734 entries across 23 categories as against 717 entries last year which is an all time record. This is indicative of how the media is growing and also the high standards that are evolving constantly.  
 
The EMVIES is getting enthusiastic support of the entire media fraternity. Media marketers and clients too are supportive and the awards  have become an honour for media planning and buying houses. 
 
In consultation with media industry thought leaders the EMVIEs Committee  has introduced the following new categories/changes at EMVIEs this year. The three new categories are as follows:  a) Media Client of the Year, b) Best Ongoing Media Campaign & c) Young EMVIE of the Year
 
Display and Video is another new addition in the additional sub categories under Best Media Innovation – Digital.  
 
ZoOm, India’s No. 1 Bollywood channel, has introduced a special award titled ‘Best Use of a Bollywood Celebrity in Media’. The award will be presented to the entry which uniquely showcases or integrates a Bollywood celebrity in Media, bringing about a relevance to the brand’s communication. Among many of the firsts is the also the fact that entries this year were submitted digitally for the first time in the history of the EMVIEs. 
 
In Round I forty three agencies participated and their work was judged by a hundred media professionals over a period of three days. Here too the digital platform was used to judge the entries. The Round II is taking place on the 23rd ,24th, & 25th August 2012. It will be a Case Study Presentation at Welingkar Institute judged by twenty one stalwarts from the marketing fraternity. It is imperative that  one reaches the venue before 10.am  to get the ballot paper to exercise their vote. 
 
The Band Baja Awards will be an added attraction whereby the media fraternity will showcase their musical talent.  
 
These events will finally lead to the grand awards ceremony which is scheduled to take place on 3rd September 2012 at Taj Lands End, Bandra.
