TV Show Review | India's Got Talent 4: Great talent pool, good chemistry between the judges

For three seasons, India’s Got Talent mesmerized the television audiences by bringing to the forefront talents that were unheard, unseen and untouched upon; creating a record and an identity for the country. With the onset of a new season, COLORS flagship talent reality show, Maruti Suzuki presents India’s Got Talent is all set to woo audiences yet again with entertainers that were hidden in various parts of the country; acts that are breath-taking, creative, bizarre and unique!

With India’s Got Talent turning four this season, the show will have not three but four jury members on the panel – veteran actor Kirron Kher, celebrated director Karan Johar, dance diva Malaika Arora Khan and the versatile choreographer cum director turned actor Farah Khan.

The first episode of the show was aired last weekend and going by the first look, it seems the audiences are going to witness a bigger and better show this time. The show opened with the divine blessing of Lord Ganesha; while the perfect ‘shri ganesha’ of the show was done by a splendid and highly dramatic performance  by ace choreographer Shiamak Davar’s group Victory Art Foundation on Agneepath’s ‘Deva Shri Ganesha’ and made their entry into the next round. The episode continued to impress the audiences with a group of ‘qawalli’ singers; two circus artists – Tanya and Mukesh Tiwari performing amazing stunts doing rope Malkham, a group of archers also won the pass to the second round along with others. The judges were seen enjoying the lighter moments during the performances of some odd contestants as well.

The first episode also had the ‘Heroine’ - Kareena Kapoor making a special presence felt who looked pretty as ever and enjoying the performances. While the set of the show and the selection / elimination procedure remains the same, the new duo that host the show are expected to tickle the funny bones of the audiences. Manish Paul was applauded for his spontaneity and sarcasm in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, which is nearing its closure; while Cyrus Sahukar, best known for his spoofs on Simi Garewal will be Manish Paul’s partner in crime in season of the talent show.

There were moments that made the audience go ‘Wow’, while some that made tears roll down their cheeks. The typical ‘sympathy’, ‘emotion’, ‘drama’ elements did make it in the voice-over artist’s script. Having said that, one cannot deny the entertainment value the show holds.

With the first episode out on the block, Team Adgully gives India’s Got Talent (season 4) a well deserved 3.5 stars out of 5. Great talent pool, good chemistry between the judges, humorous host and high entertainment promised! What else does one want on a weekend?! | By Ankita Tanna [ankita(at)adgully.com]
